FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – After Fleming Island teen Chloe Walker was severely injured in a car accident, the community came together on Sunday to raise money to help with her recovery.

The Clay County Cruzers, in partnership with Fleming Island’s Brick Oven Pizzeria and Gastropub, hosted Chloe’s Recovery Benefit Car Show. All proceeds went toward her medical expenses.

“It warms my heart a lot to see so many people come together for her,” Norma Taylor, Chloe’s Aunt, said.

On Nov. 3, Chloe was riding in a car with her friends when she was ejected and suffered severe injuries.

Taylor says Chloe has multiple fractures, lacks full use of her right side, but mentioned that her speech is slowly returning.

“She’s made amazing strides don’t get me wrong, but she’s got a long road ahead of her,” Taylor said.

The family is also collecting donations on GoFundMe.

In the same accident, 17-year-old Jonah Cook was also injured. His family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with his medical expenses.

“We can’t thank everybody enough,” Taylor said. “There’s not enough thanks in the world that we could express or say that would cover that, but I promise you it’s there.”
