Man in his 30s killed in crash on Firestone Road: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 30s was killed early Wednesday morning when he crashed into a large oak tree on Firestone Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. on Firestone Road about 2 blocks south of 103rd Street.
Paramedics were called, but the man died at the scene. Police said it looked like he was the only one in the car.
The Toyota Camry he was in was headed north on Firestone Road when it ran off the road and hit a big oak tree on the east side of the roadway, police said.
This marks the 29th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
