Shooting threat prompts heavy police presence at all St. Johns County schools; threat not credible, deputies say

Landrum Middle School placed on hard lockdown while Sheriffโ€™s Office investigated threat call

Landrum Middle School was placed on hard lockdown Monday morning after staff received a call from someone claiming he was going to conduct a school shooting.

The St. Johns County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded en force and the Real Time Intelligence Center took over the schoolโ€™s cameras as they assessed the threat and searched the school and surrounding area.

Deputies said they found โ€œno evidence to support the threat is credible.โ€

But families should expect a large law enforcement presence in all St. Johns County Schools on Monday.

A News4JAX crew saw parents filing in Monday morning in their cars and walking the sidewalks to pick up children at Landrum Middle.
