23-year-old man fatally shot in Mayport, JSO seeks information on suspects

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was fatally shot in Mayport on Friday around 10:30 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police responded to the 2900 block of State Road A1A near Wonderwood Drive and found the man shot in the stomach, back, and neck.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue said the man died at the scene.

The JSO homicide unit and crime scene unit are investigating.

Police said two men were possibly seen leaving that area after the shooting.
