JSO civilian employee arrested in connection to domestic dispute

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office civilian employee was arrested in connection to a domestic dispute on Friday evening.

JSO said officers responded to a call in the 6700 block of Wolfpack Way.

Investigators said the suspect Renee Mayweathers was upset with the victim and a verbal argument turned into a physical altercation.

Police said Mayweathers threw a small backpack at the victim’s face and continued toward them, forcing the victim to physically restrain her.

JSO said Mayweathers grabbed a knife at one point, but no other threats or advances were made toward the victim.

She was charged with domestic battery and resigned from JSO after her arrest.

She began working as a non-sworn civilian corrections control assistant in the corrections division in August 2024.
