Man found dead inside vehicle at Southside Commons, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was found dead inside a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at the Southside Commons shopping center.

According to JSO, the man was found with gunshot wounds around 3 p.m. after a passerby noticed someone in the car “slumped over” and called 911.

When Jacksonville Fire Rescue medical personnel arrived at the scene, the man was officially declared dead, JSO said.

JSO also said its Homicide and Crime Scene units are actively investigating the situation.

The agency said there is no threat to the community that it has been made aware of and is working with the medical examiner’s office to identify the man.
