JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University is headed in a different direction with the elimination of several fine arts programs and the layoffs of nearly 40 faculty members.
The university said the changes would save $10 million and give it the opportunity to focus its priorities on other majors like nursing, engineering and computer science.
An outpour of students has reacted to the news, expressing frustration and disappointment in the cuts.
