JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a man armed with several guns downtown after making several threats Friday afternoon.
Police said around noon, they received 911 calls reporting an “armed and mentally disturbed man” making threats against his neighbors at an apartment building downtown.
JSO said it found his vehicle and safely took the man into custody. They found an AR-15 rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun.
Officers determined the man was experiencing a mental health crisis. He is receiving treatment while in custody on a charge of aggravated assault.
