Putnam County man charged with capital sexual battery, accused of abusing 2 children for years

If convicted, Dimeco Henderson could face the death penalty

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Putnam County man and convicted sex offender was indicted Friday on two new charges of capital sexual battery.

Dimeco Henderson was accused of sexually abusing two children for at least three years.

Henderson was convicted of sexually abusing a minor in Jacksonville 15 years ago.

Court records showed that Henderson has repeatedly been in jail for failing to register as a convicted sex offender.

Henderson was charged with two counts of sexual battery on a victim less than 12 years of age and lewd/lascivious battery on a victim less than 16 years of age.

Under a new Florida law, Henderson could face the death penalty if convicted of capital sexual battery.
