Missing 9-year-old girl found safe by JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a missing 9-year-old girl has been found safe.

The announcement came about an hour after JSO put out an alert on social media, asking the community for help locating her.

Officers had been actively searching the Woodland Acres area after the girl was last seen leaving her home on Kona Avenue at 7:15 a.m.

JSO thanked the community for helping with the search.
