Telecommunications issues disrupt Jacksonville Air Traffic Control Center There was no loss to critical air traffic services
FAA hires 30 new air traffic controllers for Hilliard center
HILLIARD, Fla. â The Jacksonville Air Traffic Control Center experienced telecommunications issues on Friday.
The center in Hilliard lost radar, frequencies and automation equipment, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA said there was no loss of critical air traffic services due to the redundancies in both the equipment and telecommunications.
A local exchange carrier was working to repair a fiber cut in Florida that was identified as the cause of the outage.
However, the center remained operating in âalert statusâ due to the loss of redundancies.
