Man killed after crashing into tree on Baymeadows Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 20s was killed in a crash on Baymeadows Road Friday night, making the city’s 76th traffic fatality.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the man was driving a Honda sedan south on Baymeadows Road around 7 p.m. when he ran off the road, crossed the curb and hit a tree in the median.
He died at the scene.
The road remained shut down as investigators collected evidence.
