River taxi mysteriously disappears from Jacksonville’s South Bank, found safe at residential dock

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A river taxi went mysteriously missing from Downtown Jacksonville’s South Bank on Monday night, but was found Tuesday morning, according to the city’s dock master.

Jim Suber made a Facebook post saying that the Rudee Explorer river taxi was last seen at 10:30 p.m. on Monday. Shortly after, he said that the river taxi was found safe at a residential dock down river.

Suber replied to a commenter asking what happened and he said it “was either untied or someone took it for a ride,” and no one saw it get to the residential dock.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the river taxi was not stolen, but it’s still unclear how it ended up down river.
