NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – Emergency crews were on the scene of a crash Monday involving an overturned semi-truck on I-95 South in Nassau County, before State Road 200.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the semi-truck was killed. He was a 47-year-old man from Jacksonville, according to the crash report released by FHP on Tuesday.

The crash report also says the semi-truck was traveling southbound on I-95 in the outside lane, when a witness says the vehicle traveled off the roadway north of the area of collision, before regaining control of the vehicle. For unknown reasons, the driver traveled off the roadway again and overturned while trying to steer back onto the interstate.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
The crash blocked lanes of I-95 South for several hours on Monday.
The semi-truck was towed away from the scene just before 4 p.m. and all lanes were reopened.

For several hours, traffic was rerouted through Yulee. Drivers were told to expect delays and heavy congestion around US-17.
The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
