Person found dead in home after ‘altercation’ on Jacksonville’s Westside, foul play suspected: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A person was found dead in a home Friday morning on the Westside after an “altercation,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

JSO said around 3 a.m., officers responded to a home on West 18th Street and were told that there was a suspect and possibly another person inside the home.

JSO said its SWAT team cleared the home and only found the dead victim with injuries consistent with “some type of altercation.”

Investigators said they don’t know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of the people involved, so its classification is pending.

JSO said it is speaking with people to get information on a potential suspect and will release more information later.
