TALLAHASSEE, Fla – Four individuals were arrested in connection to the “ambush” shooting of a Florida State University football player, who was left in critical condition.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and other law enforcement agencies in the Panhandle detailed the events that led to the arrests on Wednesday.
Ethan Prichard, who is from Sanford, was shot in the head while dropping off his aunt at her apartment in Havana, which is just outside Tallahassee, on Aug. 31.
Community tips were vital in the investigation that led to the arrests of Jayden Bodison, 22, Caron Miller, 18, Germany Atkins, 23, and an unidentified 16-year-old, officials said.
According to investigators, Prichard was not doing anything wrong at the time of the shooting. Instead, he was visiting family after FSU won a game and taking his aunt home afterward.

While in the car with his aunt and a 3-year-old child, Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young said he was “ambushed” by the shooters.
“They were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Keith Wilmer, special agent for the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center, said.
Prichard was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. He remained in critical condition as of Wednesday.
Bodison, Miller and the juvenile were charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. Atkins was charged with one count of probation violation.
Young said the four individuals are also believed to be connected to another shooting that happened a week before Prichard was shot.
Investigators also spoke with Prichard’s father, who they said was relieved to know arrests were made.
The investigation is ongoing.
The family started a GoFundMe to support medical and related expenses as Prichard continues fighting for his life.
