Investigators said a man who was wounded was found by his friends, who were about to take him to the hospital when deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene.

No one else was hurt, and the man was hospitalized in stable condition.

Detectives said dozens of witnesses were interviewed and a large portion of the complex had to be blocked off during the investigation.

“CCSO appreciates the patience and cooperation of the community while we conducted our initial investigation. This appears to be an isolated incident stemming from an argument between the victim and suspect and the investigation is ongoing,” a Facebook post read.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Kourtney Bowles at 904-264-6512. You can also submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.

Officials are expected to provide an update when more information is available. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to be careful in the area because of road and parking lot closures.

News4JAX has a crew at the scene and will update when investigators release more information.
