Child rushed to hospital after crash on I-295 North at Normandy Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol was on the scene of a crash with injuries on I-295 North near Normandy Blvd. Wednesday afternoon.

According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, a child was rushed to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

An image from the scene showed a light-colored SUV on the side of the highway in the trees.

A Department of Transportation camera in the area showed heavy backups near Herlong Road around 6:20 p.m.
