JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville’s annual Guns N’ Hoses boxing event returned to the UNF Arena, bringing together police officers and firefighters for a night of charitable competition in the ring.

The event, which pits members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office against Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel, featured 11 matches with fighters competing in three one-minute rounds.

“We work so closely on the streets,” Trevor Hall said.

Hall is the event organizer and JSO police officer.

“Obviously out there at work we get along great. We have a great relationship. But this is the time to just come in be those rivals and go head to head. But in the end we know we’re all doing it toward the same cause. We are here to help the people of Jacksonville,” he said.

The event is organized by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Foundation, which distributes the proceeds to various charitable organizations and causes like the Police Athletic League, muscular dystrophy, K9s United and others.

Over its 26-year history, Guns N’ Hoses has raised more than $2 million.

Participants begin their training months before the event. As the lights went down and the fighters walked out the crowd of several thousand erupted.

“I sit there by the ring and I just look around and watch the crowd and the excitement of people standing up,” Hall said.

While this year’s event was delayed from its usual schedule, organizers have already set the date for the next installment. The 27th annual Guns N’ Hoses event is scheduled for April 18, 2026.
