Brother of Jacksonville rapper sentenced to 12 years after pleading guilty to accessory charges in 2020 ambush murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The brother of Jacksonville rapper Hakeem “Ksoo” Robinson pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact in connection with the 2020 ambush murder of Charles ‘Lil Buck’ McCormick Jr.

Abdul Robinson Jr. was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Robinson Jr. initially faced first-degree murder charges in the case and was set to be tried separately before he pleaded guilty.

His brother Hakeem Robinson and his cousin Leroy Whitaker Jr. were sentenced to life in prison for the murder.

Dominique “Butta” Barner, the getaway driver, testified that he, Robinson Jr., Hakeem Robinson, and Whitaker all drove by McCormick’s address and planned to kill him.

Barner said Hakeem Robinson wanted to kill McCormick for making a diss song against Willie Addison, the stepson of Abdul Robinson Sr., who was killed in a drive-by shooting.

Abdul Robinson Sr. testified that his two sons wanted to pursue McCormick because of the dispute.

Hakeem Robinson and Whitaker plan to appeal their convictions.
