Green Cove Springs names interim city manager

Mike Null named interim city manager of Green Cove Springs (WJXT)

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – The City of Green Cove Springs appointed a city official to temporarily take over the city manager role.

Mike Null will serve in the interim role effective on Nov. 15. He succeeds former City Manager Steve Kennedy.

Null will oversee all city departments and continue advancing key initiatives to ensure efficient operations and support the city’s growth.

“Mike’s extensive experience, deep understanding of City operations, and commitment to the community make him a strong choice to lead during this transition,” Mayor Matt Johnson said. “He is highly respected by both City staff and the community, and City Council has full confidence in his ability to continue advancing our priorities and supporting our employees and residents.”

Null, who has over 20 years of experience with the city, previously worked as the assistant city manager and public works director.

Greg Bauer and Scott Schultz will now lead the Public Works Department.

The city plans to begin recruiting a permanent city manager in the coming months.
