5 injured after dock collapses in Vilano Beach, St. Johns County Fire Rescue says

VILANO BEACH, Fla. – Five people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries on Thursday after a dock collapsed in Vilano Beach, according to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

SJCFR said that around 6:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the 300 block of Porpoise Point Drive after receiving reports of a dock collapse.

Upon arrival, crews located a boat lift attached to a dock that had collapsed.

The agency said that its firefighters, along with crews from the St. Augustine Fire Department, used ground ladders and marine rescue assets to safely access and evaluate those who were affected by the fall.
