SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. – The family of a woman and two children who died in a crash days before Thanksgiving is reaching out to the community to help with financial expenses.

The daughter of the woman, identified as Carolyn, started a GoFundMe for her mom and two adopted sisters, 7-year-old Sophia and 5-year-old Faithann.

The three were killed on Tuesday in a multi-vehicle crash in Lake City on US-90.

“On their way home, their lives were tragically cut short when they were hit head-on by a man who was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The accident not only took them from us but also left a deep wound in our hearts and community,” the GoFundMe said.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said the driver, identified as Marin Lagunas Ramirez, who also died in the crash, was “likely driving drunk” while in the wrong lane.

Carolyn was remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was always willing to help others.

She also celebrated her 76th birthday on Nov. 23, the Sunday before the crash.

The girls were remembered as full-of-life children who brought smiles and laughter wherever they went.

“Their loss is unimaginable, and the pain of losing them in such a senseless way is something I am still trying to process,” the daughter said in the GoFundMe.

The funds raised will help with funeral expenses and counseling as the family tries to heal.
