JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was transported to a hospital early Saturday morning after being shot while inside his car in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said at about 4 a.m., the man was sitting inside his car when an unknown person shot at him on New Kings Road, near Finch Avenue.
The man, who is in his late 60s, was struck once in the cheek, according to JSO.
The man was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Detectives canvassed the area for video surveillance and interviewed witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. It remains unclear what led to the shooting.
