Current owner Ken Babby is part of the group buying the Tampa Bay Rays — and he’s now the Rays’ new CEO. He also owns the Akron RubberDucks, the Guardians’ affiliate.

The potential sale comes on the heels of a historic season for the Shrimp, winning the 2025 Triple-A National Championship.

It’s unclear who would take over ownership of the Jumbo Shrimp if the sale is approved by the city council.
