The stage is officially set for the final game of the season. An undefeated Raines team will take on Miami Northwestern, and fans came out to show their support in what they hope will be a state championship win.

“We love the team,” Glenda McCoy said. “They are wonderful scholars and athletes and we want to be here to support them and let them know that we are backing them every step of the way.”

Jerry Battle said the Vikings need to go to Miami and handle their business.

“Don’t go down there talking about fun,” Battle said. “Go down there, do what you got to do and come on back home.”

Zelda Phillips, an elder in the community, said she wants the student-athletes to know that they are supported.

“We are looking forward to every exciting, every blessed moment knowing that things will come into play so we are looking to have a big, big shabang. Ichiban No. 1 Viking Nation,” Phillips said.
