Teen killed, 2 others shot in drug deal gone wrong in Sandalwood area, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two teens and an adult were shot at an intersection in the Sandalwood area after a drug deal gone wrong on Friday night, and one of the teens later died at a hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

At around 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Mareeba Road East and found a teen in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds, a man in a car at the same intersection with multiple gunshot wounds, and another teen with a single gunshot wound.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took all three to local hospitals and one of the teens later died.

JSO said all the victims were part of a drug deal that had gone wrong, resulting in a gunfight.
