JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Residents at a Westside Jacksonville apartment complex have been without water for three days, forcing some to use public restrooms at nearby businesses while management remains silent about repairs.
Tenants at Grassy Pond Apartments on California Avenue said they’ve been unable to use basic facilities, including sinks, toilets, and showers, since Friday. The complex, formerly managed by Peoples Choice Apartments, is now under Legacy Family Communities’ management.

A sinkhole has appeared at the back of the property, potentially contributing to the water issues.
Inside the apartments, residents faced significant challenges without running water. Basic tasks like washing dishes have become impossible, and many residents must travel to nearby gas stations and grocery stores to use restroom facilities.
JEA confirmed that the property manager requested the water shutdown to conduct repairs. However, residents said they had received minimal communication about the situation or timeline for restoration.
The water outage is the latest in a series of maintenance concerns at properties connected to People’s Choice Apartments. The News4JAX I-TEAM has previously documented residents’ complaints about deteriorating conditions and maintenance issues at affiliated properties.
Multiple attempts to reach representatives from both People’s Choice Apartments and Legacy Family Communities for comment were unsuccessful.
