Demand skyrockets for Jaguars playoff tickets against Bills, with some priced over $1,400

Home and visitor section nearly sold out

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars are just days away from a historic playoff showdown against the Buffalo Bills, and tickets to the game at EverBank Stadium are becoming increasingly difficult — and expensive — to find.

The Jaguars host the Bills in a 1 p.m. Sunday kickoff, the franchise’s first playoff game of the season. Ticket availability on Ticketmaster dropped sharply over the course of the day, with the number of available seats cut nearly in half in about seven hours.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, News4JAX observed 936 tickets available on the visitor’s side of the stadium. On the home side, just 36 tickets remained in Section 218, with prices starting above $400. By midafternoon, more than 475 tickets in the visitor section had been sold.

Fans looking to sit close to the field will pay a premium. The most expensive ticket listed was priced at more than $1,400. Suites and executive seating areas are already sold out, and some fans expect the stadium to reach full capacity.

“We’ve been monitoring the secondary market, StubHub,” said Jaguars fan Al Mollo. “We got tickets on the upper second level for about $170. Good seats are really tough to find.”

Mollo said the team has exceeded expectations this season and believes excitement surrounding the Jaguars is driving both demand and prices.

“Bills fans travel well, and it could be about 20% Bills fans in the stadium,” he said. “It’s a tough team. Until we beat them, it’s going to be a tough fight.”

Another fan, Rodney Pride, said he purchased tickets earlier in the week before prices surged.

“We were just discussing the prices,” Pride said. “My daughter has season tickets, and I thought the postseason was included, but it wasn’t. Her tickets were $147.”

EverBank Stadium officials told News4JAX they have begun selling standing-room-only tickets for approximately $248. Each person is limited to purchasing four tickets. With standing-room areas included, the stadium can accommodate about 70,000 fans.

“The team’s been playing so well, and everyone’s excited to see what they do next,” Jaguars fan Constance Keys said.

Local businesses and travel experts anticipate a strong turnout from Buffalo fans, including members of the Bills Mafia, a fan base known for traveling in large numbers.

Despite expectations of a heavy visiting presence, Jaguars fans remain confident.

“Jaguars are going to be off the chain,” fan Ronald Rhodes said. “I’ve never seen it like this.”

Fans considering buying tickets are advised to act quickly. Once tickets sell out, experts say resale prices could rise to five or six times their original face value.
