JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A rezoning request headed to the full Jacksonville City Council for a vote would allow for a standalone emergency room and a storage facility along 103rd Street near I-295 in West Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Daily Record reports.

The Land Use and Zoning Committee voted unanimously this week to approve rezoning the 5.54-acre property at 6916 103rd St. east of the interstate from Commercial Community/General-1 and Commercial Community/General-2 to a Planned Unit Development.

The Record reports that the land is divided into two parcels, one for the 24,000-square-foot emergency room and another for a three-story, 85,500-square-foot storage facility.

According to the Record, it would be the third emergency room along 103rd Street, joining HCA Florida Park West Emergency and Ascension St. Vincent’s Urgent Care, both less than a mile from the planned Baptist location.
