Chaney was already in jail for an unrelated case when he was arrested again for his role in the fatal shooting.

The shooting, which took place on June 11, claimed the life of 18-year-old Marcus Thompson, and left three others, ranging in age from 16 to 21 years old, with serious injuries; however, the three other people involved did survive, police added.

“Our hearts go out to Thompson’s loved ones, and we will continue to seek justice for him,” JSO said.
