FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – A man died early Tuesday morning following a shooting in Fernandina Beach, the city’s police department said.
Police did not specify where exactly the shooting occurred, but reports, which are heavily redacted, reveal that it happened around 5 a.m.

When police arrived at the scene, officers state that they found a man named Ty Richardson “trying to help his friend who he had shot.”
Police said the man who was suffering from the gunshot wound was given medical support, but died at the scene from his injuries.
Richardson was arrested and booked into the Nassau County Jail and faces a charge of manslaughter.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
