1 person critically injured in crash on A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach

Emergency crews were on the scene of a crash with injuries on A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach Thursday evening.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s office, the road was closed in both directions at TPC Blvd, as of 5:30 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol and St. Johns County Fire Rescue was also on the scene.

According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to the intersection around 4:45 p.m.

They found a crash involving two vehicles with one person trapped.

One person with critical injuries was rushed to the hospital in a helicopter. A second person sustained minor injuries, according to Fire Rescue.
