Man critically injured after fight with co-worker ends in shooting at McDonald’s in Oceanway, JSO says

The shooting suspect and another person have been detained, according to police

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was transported to a hospital in critical condition Saturday afternoon after he was shot in the neck at a McDonald’s restaurant in Oceanway, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, around 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a McDonald’s restaurant on North Main Street, near New Berlin Road.

When police arrived, they found a man with one gunshot wound to the neck, and he was transported to a nearby hospital.

According to JSO, the investigation revealed that the man, who works at McDonald’s, got into a physical fight with another co-worker in the back of the business.

During that fight, the co-worker brandished a firearm and shot the man one time in the neck.

The suspect and another person then ran away from the business, but were detained by police a short time later.

The victim, who is in his early 20s, was critically injured but in stable condition, JSO said on Saturday night.
