Baker County deputy shot in arm, taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

The suspect has died, the sheriff’s office said.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – The Baker County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday that a deputy was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm by a suspect.

The sheriff’s office said earlier in the evening that deputies responded to a report of domestic violence off of Harry Rewis Road. Officials said a man was shot by a family member.

BCSO said deputies approached the home and they were shot at. They returned fire and critically wounded the suspect. He later died at a hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

One deputy was shot in the arm and he was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
