DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland announced Tuesday that his office will visit 28 area schools to preregister students 16 and older and name the “Most Civic-Minded High School in Duval County.”

The effort, which offers participating schools a chance to win the Freedom Award Trophy, aims to preregister as many eligible 16 and 17-year-olds as possible. In Florida, residents who are at least 16 and meet other eligibility requirements may preregister; the registration becomes active when they turn 18.
