In 2025, JTA launched NAVI, an autonomous public transportation service, a collaboration with HOLON’s announcement to move their U.S. headquarters and establish their first U.S. manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, the opening of the ARTEA, the completion of MobilityWorks 1.0, and the onboarding of new bus operators.

There was major pushback from some members of city council over how much NAVI costs and how ridership is currently low.

Councilman Rory Diamond made a Facebook post on Wednesday criticizing JTA and the NAVI program.

JTA CEO Nat Ford introduced MVP 2050 (The Mobility Visioning Plan 2050, a roadmap for Jacksonville’s transportation future).

“What’s in mobility? Walking, biking, public transportation, automobile usage. Holistic transportation for the future. Our population is growing by leaps and bounds and we need to plan,” Ford said.

The event will also take a look at the JTA’s Better Together campaign, focused on strengthening community connections with JTA.

Officials will also have an update on the controversial upcoming fare reduction pilot program set to take effect Feb. 1.
