DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – Duval County residents have a chance to weigh in on Thursday on proposed elementary school boundary changes, as officials hold a public meeting to gather feedback before any decisions are made.
The meeting is part of the district’s Academic and Community Excellence (ACE) planning process, which gathers community input to help shape recommendations that are then forwarded to the superintendent and the school board.
The review includes potential boundary changes for 12 elementary schools across the Southside and Arlington areas, including Englewood, Greenfield, Arlington, San Jose, and Twin Lakes elementary schools, among others.
District officials have said the changes are being considered as part of a broader plan to rebuild and modernize campuses, including two schools scheduled to reopen in fall 2027.
Officials say boundary adjustments may be needed to balance student enrollment and better utilize existing facilities.
The meeting is being held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership and is open to the public.
A portion of the session is reserved for public comment, allowing parents and community members to share concerns, ask questions, and offer suggestions.
No final decisions are expected at the meeting, but the feedback gathered could help shape future recommendations.
