They found the man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, which they said had come from a “shotgun at close range.”
The man was taken to Memorial Hospital, where he was last reported in critical but stable condition.
According to Smith, detectives interviewed both a male and female who were inside the residence and both were “uncooperative and/or claimed they had no information.”
Smith said the victim also refused to share any information, including his name.
The woman was released after questioning, but the man who had been inside the home had an outstanding arrest warrant, Smith said. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.
When investigators served a search warrant on the home, they found a shotgun, which will now be processed as evidence, Smith said, adding that there is no further information to be released at this time.
