According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Williams and the victim got into a fight outside the mall on Dec. 1, 2023, around 1:30 p.m. and he pulled out a gun and shot him in the face.

JSO said the victim then ran inside the mall to get help and members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department showed up a short time later. He was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, but survived.

JSO said Williams left the mall in a silver SUV and fled to Louisiana where JSO detectives arrested him.

There were multiple witnesses on scene, including the victim’s friend, who saw the shooting and the moments leading up to it.

Court documents say that Williams and the victim used to be close and they had a falling out over a woman.
