NASSAU COUNTY, Fla.The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday that a former bookkeeper for the Nassau County School District was recently accused of stealing more than $100,000 from Hilliard Middle-Senior High School following a nearly yearlong investigation into financial discrepancies.

Jennifer Folliett, 46, was arrested on Tuesday.

According to the agency, the investigation began in February after a Nassau County School Board member flagged concerns about potential financial mishaps involving school funds and the misuse of the school’s Amazon account.

As the investigation unfolded, deputies accused Folliett of collecting money from various school clubs and activities and stashing some of that revenue for herself to use toward personal expenses.

Investigators said Folliett’s actions led to the late payment of several school invoices and caused problems for sports teams and clubs whose orders were delayed because funds were not fully deposited.

An audit conducted over the past year revealed that between August 2022 and December 2024, Folliett made 148 separate cash deposits into her account, totaling $124,610.

Investigators also accused Folliett of making more than $2,000 in unauthorized purchases for clothes, weight loss products, and perfume through the school’s Amazon account.

Folliett was fired in Dec. 2024 following the district’s preliminary findings. She was charged with organized fraud, grand theft and official misconduct.

Her bond was set at $75,000.
