ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – As the 100th anniversary of Black History Month kicks off this month, an annual celebration of jazz and blues is back to bring culture and history to the First Coast.

The 5th annual Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series takes place over two weekends: Feb. 6 & 7 and Feb. 13 - 15. The concert series takes place in one of the most historic sites in the nation—Fort Mose Historic State Park.
The series begins on Friday, Feb. 6, with Grammy Award-winning vocalist Ledisi. The first weekend wraps up on Saturday, Feb. 7, with Grammy Award-winning guitarist and singer Gary Clark Jr.
Weekend two starts on Feb. 13 with two legendary blues icons in Robert Cray Band and Ruthie Foster.
The music continues on Valentine’s Day with Detroit Jazz legend Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble. And finally, to end the series, six-time Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Samara Joy performs on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Ticket prices vary based on the show and range from $50-$212. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Fort Mose Historical Society’s mission to preserve the rich history of Fort Mose, the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in the current-day United States.
