Motorcyclist dies after being struck by SUV on Hodges Boulevard, JSO says

Hodges was shut down, but it will reopen soon.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist died after an SUV struck him on Hodges Boulevard on Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

JSO said at 6:50 a.m. in the 2300 block of Hodges Boulevard, an SUV was driving west on Egret Way. It turned onto southbound Hodges Boulevard as a motorcyclist was northbound on Hodges where the two vehicles collided, JSO said.

The motorcyclist, a man in his mid-20s, was transported to a nearby hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, where he died.

The SUV driver a man in his late 50s is cooperating with detectives.

JSO said this is the 16th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2026 and the third involving a motorcyclist.

Officials said all lanes should open up soon.
