JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Super Bowl 60 is about to get underway, and whether fans are rooting for the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots, one local business is focused on the halftime show and performer Bad Bunny.
News4JAX spent some time at an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in downtown Jacksonville named Flavorikan ahead of kickoff, where the excitement is building.
At the local restaurant, the Super Bowl celebration is all about honoring Bad Bunny, with customers and staff rocking Bad Bunny attire, and the restaurant coining the event as “The Benito Bowl.”
But the food is also a big part of the celebration. Flavorikan is serving a variety of Puerto Rican dishes, including mofongo, empanadas and pernil.

Yaritza Edstrom, a Jacksonville native from Puerto Rico, said, “Just to have those two worlds coming together, it’s so important to have representation. It’s just nice to be able to see someone that looks like me to be able to come from such humble beginnings to headlining the Super Bowl.”
Angel Borja added, “I mean, I think he’s so authentic to himself and to his culture and he’s representing it and even with his language and he is not apologetic about that at all and I think that’s an amazing thing to present to the world.”
