Sporting JAX’s new professional men’s soccer team preparing for first season game

Sporting JAX’s new professional men’s soccer team is preparing for its first season game next weekend.

The team has two players with ties to Jacksonville.

Defender Ethan Dudley played at Bartram Trail High School, and forward Luc Granitur, who played collegiate soccer at the University of North Florida.

Men’s season tickets are on sale now.

The “pack the park” opener is March 7 at Hodges Stadium at UNF. It’s the same stadium where the women’s professional team plays its home games.

The women’s team currently sits at the top of the league and is led by teen sensation, Ashlyn Puerta, the leading scorer, Meg Hughes, Paige Kenton, who has six assists each, and goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parks, who leads the league in shutouts.

The team is the first fully professional women’s team in Jacksonville’s history and joined the league last August. Tickets are also available for its next home game, on March 28.

Tickets can be purchased by dialing 904-863-KICK or visiting SportingJax.com.

Cole Pepper, Director of broadcasting and digital content for Sporting Jax, joined News4JAX anchor Jennifer Waugh during 10 a.m. on News4JAX+ to talk soccer.
