DCPS puts Southbank headquarters back on the market after failed agreement with Chase Properties

Friday’s special meeting of DCPS board was postponed at request of attorneys

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County Public School has put its Southbank headquarters back on the market after a deal with Chase Properties fell through in February.

The school district briefly paused relocation plans after the deal ended, but said in a news release on Tuesday that the property at 1701 Prudential Drive was re-listed and accepting open call offers.

The now-terminated agreement between Chase Properties and DCPS that was approved in November would have allowed the developer to acquire the riverfront site for $17.2 million and pursue a mixed-use redevelopment including residential and commercial space.

The district said it was reassessing relocation to cut annual maintenance costs of $512,624, improve efficiency and staff collaboration, and free the 4.87‑acre CBD-zoned waterfront parcel— suitable for mid- to high-rise residential, mixed-use, or hospitality development— for redevelopment

Interested buyers must submit offers to Trinity Commercial Group by April 1, 2026.
