St. Johns County detectives searching for home burglar who smashed through sliding glass door

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a burglary after a masked person broke into a home in the Beacon Lake neighborhood.

According to deputies, it happened on Feb. 25, 2026, around 7:03 p.m. at a home on Concave Lane.

Surveillance video shows the suspect enter the property through the backyard, walk to a back sliding door with a flashlight and cut through the screen, then break the glass and enter the home.

Over about 15 minutes, the burglar repeatedly entered and exited the residence, ultimately taking a black file cabinet and a briefcase.

SJSO Property Crimes detectives asked anyone who saw an unknown vehicle parked at the JEA site — the green-gated location near Beacon Lake Parkway and Concave Lane — between 7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 25 to contact SOpropertycrimes@sjso.org with information.
