JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found dead in Jacksonville’s Northside Saturday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to 1700 W. 12th Street after a ShotSpotter activation, an automated gunshot-detection alert.

Upon arrival, a man was found inside an abandoned property with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The relationship of the parties involved and circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently unknown, according to JSO.
The case is pending classification as JSO investigates and coordinates with the Medical Examiner’s Office.
