Jacksonville only opening 26 of 34 city pools due to lifeguard shortage
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Are you looking to become a lifeguard this summer?
Well, you might have the opportunity because the City of Jacksonville is hiring lifeguards for the upcoming summer season.

Who can apply?
Anyone ages 15 and up looking to gain valuable work experience and serve their community
Applicants should also come prepared to swim as the following prerequisite skills are required:
200-yard swim
2 minutes of treading water without using hands
Retrieving a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the diving well
Applicants will receive instruction in water safety, rescue techniques, and CPR, equipping them with essential life-saving skills and confidence on the job.

Change of clothes
Snacks
A notebook to take notes
How much does it pay?
The position’s starting pay is $15 per hour.
