JSO searching for suspect who fled after man shot at Hammond Boulevard liquor store

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who fled after an adult man was shot early this morning at a liquor store on Hammond Boulevard, officials said.

The shooting occurred about 12:40 a.m. after an argument inside Safari Liquor Store, Sgt. Richardson of JSO’s violent-crimes unit said.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired one shot that struck the victim in the wrist, Richardson said. The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the shooting, the suspect left the area in a white sedan, authorities said. Detectives canvassed the scene for surveillance video and interviewed witnesses.
